Launching a Business in the Midst of Crisis

So here I was all excited and ready to start a soft launch of my business on March 17th when almost overnight the world was changed by a pandemic of CORVID-19 (aka “Coronavirus”). I’ve been working with clients who I had heard of me through word of mouth but I had yet to really put myself out there on the internet – but was now the right time? I spent time debating and wondering what to do. Do I launch? Do I hold off? Do I just stay stagnant? My old friend ANXIETY started to creep in – what was I going to do?

I took a deep breath and remembered why I named my business ‘Agape Professional.’ Agape is a biblical term meaning God’s love for mankind or love IN ACTION!! My business name itself was about taking action!! It was like one of those moments when you hear choirs of angels sing “ahhh!”

I have a chance – we all have a chance – to use our talents, our skills, our service to help others who may need it.

For many that are currently working remotely while trying to juggle kids that are home from school, this is all uncharted territory. Meanwhile here I am doing this working from home thing (with a toddler underfoot thank you very much!) for the last 3 years. Not only that I have over 20 years of corporate experience in management, marketing, systems and service! Now is the time to launch!!

But here’s the thing, it’s not about salesy, sleezy marketing right now. It’s not about profiteering off of people who are right now struggling and uncertain. It’s about using my gifts and skills to be a service to others. To provide assistance where needed. To show up not thinking “what’s in it for me” but “how can I help this person/business/brand succeed.” My “launch” may not look exactly like I planned it right now but it’s exactly where I need to be.

I am offering free 30 minute business strategy discussions with anyone who is either looking to start a business, is already in business or is maybe just struggling to balance it all while working from home right home. I’m also offering discounted marketing and business management services during this time.

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Heb 13:16
